From Miss to Mrs: Hey Mr. DJ

I think almost every bride looking towards the wedding wonders about the dance floor. "What if it's always empty and no one uses it?" "What if the DJ is miserable and no one wants to dance to the songs they pick." "What if the floor itself is too small, so no one is able to dance?" Valid concerns maybe, but thankfully in our case that isn't what happened.

Yes, there were times when the floor was packed and others when it may have only been 1 or 2 bridesmaids on the floor, but pretty much after the horah, there was almost always someone using it.

If you are concerned though, just make sure you and your bridesmaids help set the tone for the night. I don't remember having a specific conversation with them, telling them to make sure they were dancing, but I knew my friends and knew they wouldn't have let me down. But more than that knew they want to have fun on the dance floor.

And dance we did!

From getting a little bit softer during "Shout,"
00734
to forming a big circle and have guest
00681
after guest have their turn in the spotlight.

And of course we took a step to the right,
00672
and put our hands on our hips while doing the time warp.

Were (or are) you concerned about the dance floor at your wedding?

  1. I haven't even thought about dancing yet! Ha!

The DJ at my sister's wedding was so weird - I went to request a song that she asked for, and the DJ told me that he could only accept requests from her! She never gave him any such "rules," and he was so reluctant to play that Taylor Swift song!

  2. I am a little concerned about this too, but we hired a great DJ and I know that he will keep the night pumping and getting people to dance. I sure hope it turns out that way for as much as we are paying him! HA!

    1. Thank you! I basically tasked my MOH with finding bridesmaid dress. My own requests were that they were floor length and dark blue. I think she did a fabulous job with it. Plus they were light enough that they were perfect with all the heat.
