18 Months Update

18 Months
You're 18 months old! (Which means for the first time in some time, I'm not combining multiple updates into one!)
March 2
At your 18 month visit you were 30.3 inches tall (4.5%ile). You weighed 17 lbs 4 ozs (0%ile). Your head circumference was 45.5 cm (4th%ile).
March 10
You're wearing a mix of 12 month and 9 month clothing. Tops tend to be 12 months, but bottoms are 9 months. (And even some of your 9 month bottoms are still way to loose at the waist.)
March 15
Somehow in the past few weeks you seem to have left babyhood behind and are being a full-fledged toddler! There are so many new words. Each day it feels like I hear you saying a new one. But at an attempt of a running list, adding to the ones from last month, you can say shoe, sock, no, noodle, wa-wa (water), ball ball (football), uh oh, woah, outside, book, truck, duck, cat, che-it (cheezit), and sheep. Although you aren't always matching the animal to the name and spent The Royal Wedding calling the white horses, sheep.
March 25
Eating is still hit and miss for you. It's not that you're picky exactly, but there are just times you don't want to sit down and eat. Although if I had to pick a favorite it's likely some type of carbs (bread, croissants, and doughnuts for example).
March 31
You are a bit of a daredevil and are constantly falling down or running into things. You're current favorite thing is standing on top of the coffee table and "jumping" into someone arms or the couch (i.e. taking a step off the table and hoping you're close enough to fall onto a safe surface.)
April 14
You love books, and each night when I tell you it's the last one before night-night you're never very happy. Your favorite books tend to be those with animals in them. You love Chomp by Matthew Van Fleet and Baby Loves Quantum Physics (since you love pointing out Schrodinger's cat).
April 15
You love playing outside. We recently bought a water table (on sale at a Toys R Us store closing) and you absolutely love splashing and getting wet. You'll be starting swim lessons in a couple weeks, and I'm sure you'll have a blast.
April 18
You give the absolute best hugs, throwing your tiny arms around someone with a giant squeeze. (To the point I've been told so by not only your teachers at daycare, but by the other moms there too!) I just hope that some day when you're a teenager and way too cool for mom, I can still remember how awesome your hugs used to be.

Here's a comparison with your sister at 18 months.

3 1/3 Years Update

3 1/13 Years
You're 3 1/3 years old!
December 14
December 18
You have gotten so big, I can hardly believe it. Although your clothing size is still pretty much the same... a couple of 18 months shirts and bathing suits still fit, but you also have some 4t dress that work too. With shoes you're still wearing size 7.
December 24
December 25
Your current favorite movies are Wreck-it Ralph and Baymax (Big Hero 6). Your favorite food is probably macaroni and cheese. Your favorite restaurant is Raising Canes, especially the Cane Sauce.
January 17
January 18
You played soccer this past spring and had an absolute blast. You're currently in the middle of swim lessons and love those too. Each day it's a question of whether you had swim lessons tomorrow.
January 27
February 10
You're favorite toys are your magnatiles and legos (duplos technically). Although you still do love cooking in the kitchen. You'll occasionally play with your Bitty Baby or Barbies, but not very often.
February 13
February 27
At school you're still best friends with I. Although C and MC are close behind most times. And speaking of friends, you started entering the birthday part circuit. Your first part was a dinosaur party at the Louisiana Science museum. You've then also been to parties at bounce house playgrounds.

You still love stories and each night pick out two different ones before bed. It's hard to say if you have an all-time favorite, but you do like the Frances books, especially A Birthday for Frances.
March 10
March 25
You know and can recognize your letters. You'll count as long as someone will let you (although may wind up skipping from 29 to 50). Although while you are great verbally with them, you aren't quite there with writing. You also aren't there with time yet. Everything in the past is yesterday, and everything after sleeping (even if it's just a nap) is tomorrow.
March 25
March 29
I'm so absolutely amazed with the person you're becoming. You're already such a tiny independent person, that I can already see glimpses of how you'll be as a teenager. In a way I'm looking forward to it, and yet there are times when I just want to freeze time because I absolutely love you the way you are right now.
