Sparkler exits have been on my mind lately. I think partly because 4th of July wasn't that long ago. And it doesn't help that every day on my way to and from work I drive by 2 firework warehouses. There's so many brides out there dying for a sparkler exit. And I completely understand the appeal, after all look how pretty they are.
sourceExcept too often brides are told no since their venue doesn't allow them. But my venue is all for sparklers. Here's even proof of a sparkler exit at our venue.
sourceBut even though I look at these pictures and think, "How pretty!" I'm not sure I want it for myself.
sourceI think part of it is that where I grew up fireworks were illegal, and have always thought fireworks were something meant only for professionals. I realize that sparklers aren't quite fireworks according to most people, but I completely associate them together.
sourceI'm not even sure I've held a sparkler, let along a full blown bottle rocket or some other type of firework. (My knowledge is clearly limited by lack of use.) And while I wouldn't have to actually hold a sparkler if we did an exit, I would still need to run through a tunnel of flame. Fire plus a bunch of drunk people just seems to scream dangerous to me. But while I'm not completely sold on actually doing an exit, I still love looking at pictures of people who are brave enough, so here's a few more fire hazard photos for your viewing pleasure?

sourceAre you, or did you, did a sparkler style exit at your wedding? If it's a no, was that your choice or the venues?
Love the sparklers! My venue said no so I went with rose petals. Confetti and bird seed are way too messy! You're living in LP now, right? Fireworks are legal in that parish, run out and get some, get over your fear. It looks like in most of those pics that people are lined up far enough away so you won't catch on fire ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I've never heard of sparklers at weddings. :)

Sparklers would be so much fun! I hope that's something you do.
ReplyDeleteWe used sparklers for our exit. It was fun but a little unorganized so our pictures aren't the greatest.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen sparklers at a wedding, but know of people who have done it and I think it is a cool evening exit!
ReplyDeleteWe did a sparkler exit! If I had to do it all over again, I'd still do sparklers but I'd give the people in charge (our moms) VERY SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS on when and where to light them and to have all the guests arranged BEFORE lighting the sparklers, because things got a little confusing. The pictures still turned out to be really pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe didnt do sparklers and never really considered so I am not sure whether the venue would allow. Since my wedding was in TN, I would guess it probably would have been allowed :)We just did rose petals I think.
ReplyDeleteI have been to a sparkler exit. It didnt seem dangerous (except for maybe smaller children getting ahold of them) and was pretty!
I think the really long sparklers would be cool to have! I know my uncle used bubbles at his and it stained her dress.
