Waiting on Wednesday (5)

I don't often participate in Breaking the Spine's Waiting on Wednesday, but every so often there's a new release coming that I can't help but get excited about. Clearly, this week is one of those times.

Daughters of the Nile by Stephanie Dray
Expected Publication
: December 3, 2013 by Berkley Trade
Series: Cleopatra's Daughter #3

Synopsis via Goodreads:Based on the true story of Cleopatra’s daughter…

After years of abuse as the emperor’s captive in Rome, Cleopatra Selene has found a safe harbor. No longer the pitiful orphaned daughter of the despised Egyptian Whore, the twenty year old is now the most powerful queen in the empire, ruling over the kingdom of Mauretania—an exotic land of enchanting possibility where she intends to revive her dynasty.

With her husband, King Juba II and the magic of Isis that is her birthright, Selene brings prosperity and peace to a kingdom thirsty for both. But when Augustus Caesar jealously demands that Selene’s children be given over to him to be fostered in Rome, she’s drawn back into the web of imperial plots and intrigues that she vowed to leave behind.

Determined and resourceful, Selene must shield her loved ones from the emperor’s wrath, all while vying with ruthless rivals like King Herod. Can she find a way to overcome the threat to her marriage, her kingdom, her family, and her faith? Or will she be the last of her line?

I loved the first two books of the series, and can't wait to see how it continues! I would imagine this is the last of the series, but hopefully I'm wrong. Either way, I definitely want to be savoring this once it's finally available.

Are they any books you're waiting on that you can't wait to see published?

Waiting on Wednesday (4)

After last week's Backstreet Boys concert, while looking up information on their new documentary, I discovered the fact that Nick Carter has a book coming out. How I didn't know this earlier given my Backstreet obsession and the amount of time I spend on book blogs is a little unbelievable. Since I know you must be curious, here is the cover and description.

Facing the Music And Living To Talk About It by Nick Carter
Expected Publication:
September 17, 2013
Publisher Bird Street Books
Synopsis via Goodreads: This book is Nick Carter’s autobiography and self-help hybrid in which he chronicles his struggles with a dysfunctional family and the unimaginable rigors of becoming an internationally successful pop-star at the age of 12. From his battle with addiction to serious health complications and the pain of his younger sister’s tragic death, Nick leaves nothing to the imagination and offers true and heartfelt advice to help readers overcome obstacles in their own lives.

Since I obviously can't wait for this to come out, I'm linking up with Breaking the Spine's Waiting on Wednesday. Thankfully though I don't to wait that long for this since it comes out one week from today!

To my faithful readers, thanks for putting up with my obsession these past few weeks, I can promise this will be my last post on them for a while. Or at least until I read and review this book!

Waiting on Wednesday (3)

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where we share the books we're just dying to read. I definitely think I have an exciting one I'm linking up with today!

The Ward by Jordana Frankel
Expected publication: April 30th 2013
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Synopsis via Goodreads: Sixteen-year-old Ren is a daredevil mobile racer who will risk everything to survive in the Ward, what remains of a water-logged Manhattan. To save her sister, who is suffering from a deadly illness thought to be caused by years of pollution, Ren accepts a secret mission from the government: to search for a freshwater source in the Ward, with the hope of it leading to a cure.

However, she never expects that her search will lead to dangerous encounters with a passionate young scientist; a web of deceit and lies; and an earth-shattering mystery that’s lurking deep beneath the water’s rippling surface.

Jordana Frankel’s ambitious debut novel and the first in a two-book series, The Ward is arresting, cinematic, and thrilling—perfect for fans of Scott Westerfeld or Ann Aguirre.

First of all this sounds amazing! I'm always a fan of dystopian books, so I know I'll be loving this one too. It's from the same publishing house which brought us Divergent, and I have a feeling it will have a similar impact. Plus the cover is awesome. And while so much of what happened with Hurricane Sandy is horrific, the fact that we have a flooded NYC on the cover adds an eerie realism.

But the number 1 reason why I can't wait to read this book? Well, here's a photo of me and the author (and a wedding sneak peak!).

Yes, Bridesmaid NYC is the author of this book! So, while I do realize I have a biased opinion, even if I didn't know the author I know this is the type of book I'd love. I'm so excited for Jordana, and seriously CANNOT wait till I'm able to purchase her book in a bookstore.

What are you waiting for this Wednesday? And how proud do you get over your friends' accomplishments?

Waiting on Wednesday

I don't normally participate in Breaking the Spine's Waiting on Wednesday, but this is a book I'm so excited for I can't help but share!
The Wild Rose by Jennifer Donnelly
Publication Date: August 2, 2011
I know I'm not the only one waiting because it feels like every few days someone stumbles on my blog searching for "The Tea Rose Trilogy Book 3." Although they must be disappointed to find instead my reviews of book 1 (The Tea Rose) and book 2 (The Winter Rose) Thankfully we don't have to wait too much longer because it'll be out in only 2 short months!

Waiting on Wednesday

Today's my first time participating in Breaking the Spine's Waiting on Wednesday. But when I heard the release date for this book was announced I had to share!
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini (November 8, 2011 by Random House)

I remember back when my brother read the series I wondered what it was all about, but once I started I got it. The funny part now is I'm pretty sure he never read the third book in the series, but I read it as soon as it came out. Now I can't wait for the final book to see how the series finally ends, almost 10 years after I first started reading it.
