Catching Up

It's isn't a surprise that I haven't been blogging lately. Obviously I've had a few other things on my mind. But I miss blogging. (I also missing reading everyone else's blogs. But my reader is so full right now I'm just hoping to have it all read by ohh... the end of the year. And that seems optimistic.) But while I miss blogging, I'm not completely sure what to blog about. It's not that I have some form of writer's block, but more that some of the things I right about (book or movie reviews and such) seems silly or trivial considering. Except that's what I enjoy blogging about, and the only person that I really need to be considering is myself instead of what other people my thing. So I'm going to try to start blogging as normal, or at least my new normal.

Now that we're past that a few things I haven't had the chance to mention in the past few weeks...

I made my first recipe inspired by pinterest.

So easy, especially considering I used a store bought pesto sauce. The recipe is attached to the pin, but basically it's just chicken baked in pesto with cheese added at the end. Here's how it turned out.

And one more on the plate, served over pasta with roasted carrots on the side.

And I had my first ever blogger meet-up!

Here's is me & Baker Girl of An Extended Vacation. We meet for lunch and had such a great time. Now I can officially say, I completely agree with all the bloggers who say that meeting up feels normal and as if you already know each other.

And on a more serious note, again I just wanted to thank everyone for reaching out to me. To save I've been completely surprised at some of the people who I've heard from would be an understatement. I still don't think I've processed exactly what's happened, but it is amazing to know I have so many people looking out for me.

  1. That chicken looks amazing. Hope you're doing ok.
And sometimes the trivial is what you need. Don't question what feels right for you right now.

Just follow your heart and do what feels right the next little while. "Trivial" or not!

  4. Don't worry about what you're posting and what people may think. Post what makes you happy, it's your blog.

  5. Looks delicious!

There's nothing wrong with some trivial things, especially at a time like now. Taking some time out to blog the "small stuff" can be very therapeutic. Hope it gives you a much needed breather from the hard stuff you're going through. =/

  7. I agree with Amber - follow your heart and do what is best for you. Right now you are dealing with so much, it would be a shame to not do things that you enjoy or make you happy. And those who love you would never judge the use of a creative outlet. I am sure I speak for other when I say I just want you to be happy and well, whatever that means, or however you get there.

    Thinking of you!
