Mailbox Monday (103)

It's a Mailbox Monday full of post holiday fun! Yes, there are a few books here for me, but the majority of them were gifts for my daughter's first Hanukkah and Christmas.
Mailbox Monday
Gifted
The Pout-Pout Fish by Dborah Diesen
Fluffy Animals
Both of these were gifts from our daughter's aunt, uncle, and cousins.

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
This was one my wish list for Elley, and was gifted to her by her great-grandmother.

The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
Yes, another copy of Goodnight Moon, but this one's better for when she's a little older. I was curious as to whether the board book was abridged, turns out it's the full version. Also, I never actually had a copy of the Strawberry book growing up, but definitely recognize it from friends' houses. Anyways, both of these were gifts from my dad's girlfriend.

Cajun Night Before Christmas Illustrated by James Rice
This was our gift to Elley for Christmas, because living in Louisiana I figured it was pretty much a necessity.

The Bedtime Sh'ma Adapted by Sarah Gershman
This actually wasn't a holiday gift at all, but instead a gift from our Rabbi for Elley's baby naming.

The Jungle Book by Jennifer Adams
Frankenstein by Jennifer Adams
Huckleberry Finn by Jennifer Adams
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Jennifer Adams
More Babylit books! I don't own them all, at least not yet, but that may or may not be my goal before 2015 is over. These were all gifts from us on the 8th night of Hanukkah.

From Paperback Swap
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
I'm so excited for this one! I've heard such great things about Miranda Kenneally and her Hundred Oaks books, but have yet to read any of them myself. I think the fact that it's a YA book featured around sports is such a clever idea. Hopefully it will live up to all the hype!

From Goodreads
Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum
I didn't even realize I had one this till it arrived in the mail. I guess that's what having a baby will do to you! But it looks to be somewhat of a literary fiction story about an unsatisfied housewife in Switzerland. So I guess we'll see how I feel about it.

What did you find in your mailbox this week? Anyone else have some post-holiday gifts to share?

  3. Baby Elley is going to have the best library! :) I didn't get any books for Christmas, which is probably an OK thing because I am trying to get through all the unread books on my nook so I can start using the kindle I bought for myself on black Friday!

  11. I'm really curious about "The Bedtime Sh'ma." And we have two copies of "Goodnight Moon" too. One is a board book which has been "well loved" and the other is the hardcover edition which we have been able to keep nice.
