Tomorrow marks the first day of August! But before we start a new month, here's a look back at this past July.
In July...
...We spent the week of 4th of July in
Orange Beach.
...Once again we ate well with the boy making braised lamb with roasted potatoes and figs (from our backyard!),
mustard chicken with roasted broccoli,
and
spicy honey glazed chicken with arugula pesto couscous. The chicken was good, but the arugula pesto was really the star of the meal.
...I finally made it to Saigon Noodles, a restaurant I've been wanting to try for a while. But while overall I enjoyed my lunch, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
...I posted reviews of 4 books and 2 movies.
Love & Treasure by Ayelet Waldman
A Triple Knot by Emma Campion
Unhinged by A. G. Howard
Spring Break by Katherine Appelgate
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Hercules
Overall it was only kind of an ok month here, but my favorite of these has to be
Love & Treasure.
...back in 2012 I wrote about our
cake tasting,
and for a bit of a two-parter, almost exactly one year later, in 2013, I posted about our
cake cutting.
What were some of the highlights of July for you?
That honey glazed chicken sounds good! Busy month!
ReplyDeleteIt was actually pretty easy to make too!
DeleteI think the highlight of July was either this past weekend (which I haven't had a chance to blog about yet) or the day we spent with Tessa and Willem and went to the zoo, went mini golfing, and played at a fun new playground. Oh, and the double date we had with our friends.
ReplyDeleteYum! Once again my mouth is watering looking at all the dishes the boy made! You are a lucky girl to have such a wonderful cook for a husband. Out of his dishes he made, the mustard chicken sounds best to me as I LOVE mustard.
ReplyDeleteJuly was a great month for me as I spent the 4th with my family and hosted a fun party with some of Phil's friends the last weekend of the month!
Umm. That just made me really, really hungry. Lol! Looks like July was a good month for you. :) Thanks for stopping by!
