Triangles by Ellen Hopkins
I believe the exact words of the friend who lent this to me were, "I can't decide if I love it or hate it." Definitely a summary that piques your interest right? It's written in verse which is always fun, and I have heard that it's less risque than the cover makes it out to be. So we'll see if I'm less conflicted with this.
What did you find in your mailbox this week? And what's the last book you read where you really weren't sure how you felt about it?

I've only read one Ellen Hopkins book: Identical. And I didn't like it. I'm not sure if it was the verse format, or just that particular book.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it,though, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I picked up a couple of books from the library yesterday, one of which is called "Liberating Paris" which I am reading for an online bookclub. I thought it was sent in Paris, France. Nope, it's set in Paris, Arkansas! I did buy books this week, but they were baby books for a baby shower!
ReplyDeleteI've read conflicting reviews about Triangles. I've never read a book in verse but some bloggers have tried it and loved it so I guess until I try I wouldn't know if this format is something I would like.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Triangles yet, though I love Hopkins' writing, and verse novels in general. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat comment definitely does pique my interest :P I hope you enjoy it!! Thanks for stopping by my post!!
ReplyDeleteI have a student this year who LOVES Ellen Hopkins, but her writing's a little too intense for me.
ReplyDeleteI have one of her books on my shelf. It might be that one. The cover looks familiar. I'll be interested to hear what you think.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI read similar reactions to Triangles when it was newly published. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteooh intriguing...must look into this one more!
ReplyDeleteI love Ellen Hopkins but that wasn't my favorite of her books. My mother loved it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mailbox. I like the sound of Triangles! Have a great reading week!

I haven't bought a book in several months (yay unemployment) but I think the last one I was conflicted about was a Jodi Picoult book I read. It was good, but...I don't know where to put my finger on why it didn't 100% resonate with me.
ReplyDeleteThis is a new-to-me book, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts!
