Rocking a Sweet Tooth

In case you hadn't already heard, Easter was last week. And why am I reminding you of this? Well the day after Easter, candy typically goes on sale, which means I stocked up on candy for our candy buffet.

I think it's pretty easy to guess which candy I bought now, and which candy I bought after Valentine's Day. I did try to buy candy that would keep (aka no chocolate... but somehow a bag of m&ms snuck in). I'm still planning on buying a lot more as we get closer to the wedding, but I figure I might as well make the most of these end of season sales.

Of course after writing this "update" on our candy bar I realize I've yet to post about it. So.... surprise! The plan is to do a candy bar at the wedding. The trend is to do something where all the candy is in the wedding colors. Something like this...

Except while I think that's pretty, I'd rather do something based only on the deliciousness on the candy. So something closer to this...

I still have a lot more work I need to do on this, mainly picking up more candy and the pretty glass jars, but I'm so excited to put this in action!

Would you want to do a candy bar at your wedding? If so, would you go for a pretty color scheme, or just whatever candy called out to you?

  2. I like it when people have candy tables at their wedding because I can't have the cake because of my gluten intolerance, so its nice to have another sweet option!

I don't know if I would have a candy table at my wedding. What I would like to do is have a sundae bar for dessert instead of cake. But I am not sure how I would pull that off. Not that I need to worry about this, being single and all. ;)

  3. I like candy bars that have the bride and groom's favorite candies rather matching theme. I love the idea. What kind of bags will you use?

  5. My best friend did this at her wedding! It was yummy. She stuck with the same color scheme, but that really limits the candy you can get. I also did a candy bar for her bachelorette shower and ordered all my candy from Candy Warehouse and Oh Nuts. They had really good prices on bulk candy!

  6. Cute idea! I wouldn't use just one color, but I would probably arrange them rainbow-style. Of course, I plan on eloping (and the boyfriend is supportive), so it's a moot point. Maybe for just a regular party, though. I loooooove candy.
