I know I've been posting pretty sporadically lately, at least compared to the amount I normally post. But its been a little crazy with fixing up the new house and moving and everything else. (In case you're curious moving is almost officially done. All that's really left to do is clean out the apartment. Good thing considering our lease is up at the end of the month.)
But since I've been posted less than normal, you might expect that I have a ton of posts saved up to write. But no, its just the opposite actually. Since I've gotten out of the habit of posting is getting difficult to get back in. Its funny because not only can I not think of things to write about, I can't even seem to remember the types of things I used to post about!
Its funny to think back to last November when I posted everyday during NaBloPoMo. The crazy thing is that then, I had so many ideas of things I wanted to write that I couldn't even seem to fit them into a mere seven days a week.
I'm sure eventually I'll start "feeling it" again. And I'm sure there will be a time in the future when I stop "feeling it." I guess its similar to life where things at random can seem to head up or down without any real rhyme or reason. But even if I'm not posting regularly, I'm still out there in internet-land most likely reading your blog.
Anyone else ever been hit by a case of blogger's block? Or even better, is there anything you've just been dying to hear me write about?

I'm just dying to see pictures of your house!! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm going through that too ... I've been posting recipes, hopping onto Kelly's "Show Us", rambling about school ... but does anyone really care? Who knows :) - at least I'll be able to look back on this and have a journal of my life!!
I kind of feel the same way. But mine is more in the sense that I don't want to bore anyone to death or talk about the same thing over again. :) Hopefully we will both get out of our funk soon!
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling that way recently. Besides my theater thursdays, I've been having a hard time blogging.
ReplyDeleteI go through blogger block phases as well, and then sometimes I have so many ideas. So what I've started doing is keeping a list of potential posts in my blackberrry. . Then when I have bloggers block, I go to that list...
ReplyDeleteI like it when you show us house projects too! And movie & book reviews! Anything & everything!
I am the SAME way. If I DON'T post for awhile it's hard to come up with ideas and then other times I post lots and the ideas are just flowing out of me!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get back into the swing of things when you take a break (intentional or not). When J and I were traveling I got used to not posting and when I got home I was like "duh..." No idea where to start, what to write about or anything. Slowly, I'm getting more into the swing again.
ReplyDeletePlus, with all the big changes in your life right now, you may find that you want to take your blog in a different direction.
Yessss, this has definitely happened to me. I even took a blog break for about two weeks last spring because I was just doneeee for a while. I didn't think I'd come back, but of course I did.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you're talking about. I've had bloggers block lately too.
ReplyDeleteI get blogger's block all the time! so don't worry. usually what keeps me away from blogging though is work. I am too busy writing articles to write posts. but then, once I get a free minute, I'm usually so exhausted I can't think of anything good to write. and vice versa. when I am too busy to write, I think of good blog ideas! arg... :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I get it all the time. And when I don't, I feel like my posts are boring/not on subject/too long/too short. Good luck getting it back :D I still love your posts!
