Giving Thanks

I feel like I've been saying this over & over, but I'm not sure what else to do, but I wanted to say thanks for everyone whose been reaching out. I know I have tons of e-mails, facebook messages, text messages, and everything else that I need to respond to, and while this doesn't replace that I still wanted to say something. (If I do owe you an e-mail I do plan on respond, at least eventually.) But I also wanted to spotlight a few friends who've reached out recently.

First my co-workers all bought me a plant. (It's a narcissus "paper white.") It was waiting for me on my desk the day I went back to work. At that point it hadn't yet bloomed and I was afraid I'd manage to kill it before that. But as you can see, we have flowers!

One of my favorite bloggers Amber, or to give a little history the first person to ever comment on one of my blog posts, sent me a cute little package full of Canadian candy. I was most excited for the Coffee Crisp, which I have had before, but was even better than I remember. And then there's the fact that this is the first time I've ever seen anything Erin Condren in person, since Amber used her sticker on the envelope.

I also received another package from Lisa, Amber, and Amber. Yes, it's the same Amber as above. In fact I'm pretty sure I meet both Lisa and the other Amber through Amber's blog as well. I'm so excited to curl up in my new matching PJs (actually a mild obsession of mine, I refuse to wear pajamas that don't match) with a cup of salted caramel hot chocolate.

Obviously I would do anything not to be in the situation I'm in and still have my mom here with me. But I do feel blessed to know that there's so many people out there who care, so again... thank you!!!

  1. Those flowers are the flowers that Samantha receives in the first SATC movie (I think?).

I am glad some things have brought some comfort to you. I so wish you would not be going through this situation... It's just so hard, and as a friend, you just want to come up with SOMETHING to help, even if it's just a little love in the form of a care package full of random things.

Still thinking of you & praying for you & your family!!

  2. Agreed with what Lisa said, we wish you weren't in this situation but we just wanted to send something to show we were thinking of you and that would hopefully brighten your day just a little bit. I am STILL thinking of you all the time!

I'm so glad you liked the candy. What did you think of the smarties? Smarties and Coffee Crisp are, and always have been, my very favourite candy so I was SHOCKED when I started reading blogs and realized they didn't have them in the US!

  3. I'm glad you liked the package! It's sometimes strange how much you can care about someone you have never "met" but when I heard about your mom, my heart dropped. There are many people that love and care for you, I'm so grateful you have that! As always, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
