Yes, I made the famous rolo cookies. I know of at least two bloggers who have made them already and I'm sure they're are a ton more. The recipe (rolos, 1 box devil's food cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/3 cup oil, powdered sugar) is so easy I won't be posting written out instructions. Instead here's a visual interpretation. (Of course if you really want the words the pin has the original post.)
Now back to words for a few finals comments. First I refrigerated the dough in between forming it into balls. It was recommended in the comments to keep the dough from being too sticky. It wasn't sticky at all, so I guess it worked.
Second this recipe is supposed to make 3 dozen. Except I only have 24 rolos so I was a little short. To use all the dough my rolo-to-dough ratio was probably a little off. I definitely think it would have been better with less cookie per rolos, but still was pretty impressed.
Have you made (or pinned) the rolo cookies? If not, I bet your on the way to doing it now, right?

ReplyDeleteThose look really yummy. I have never thought of putting chocolate candy in homemade cookies but I will probably dream about that soon. Was that too much information or what?
