Fast Five
Two years ago I saw Fast & Furious, the fourth installment of the series. But since that was the first one I had seen, this one was only the 2nd time I'd seen a movie from this series, even though it's actually the 5th instalment.
The movie wasn't awful. The boy enjoyed it more than the last, and felt in someways it was similar to Ocean's 11. They leave it open for a sequel (assuming of course you stay through the credits to see the last scene), and based on the amount of money this film has already made I'm guessing there will be a 6th version.
But honestly my biggest complaint was the subtitles. I weird thing to complain about, but the way they were done was so bad it took away from the movie. For example, the subtitles would show an exclamation mark, when the actor speaking Portuguese didn't change the expression of his voice and in no way sounded excited. Or the words would fade in an out or move around the screen "artistically," except all it really did was detract from what was actually happening. I'm not sure what they spent so much time trying to make the subtitles look different, but whatever the reason it just didn't work.
Although if the worst part of a movie is the subtitles, I guess it can't be that bad right?
