Flower Power

When looking for a florist I didn't have a lot of specifications. Sure I'd love forget-me-nots and lupins, but I realize they don't quite work as a practical wedding flower. So aside from blue and purple colored flowers, there's nothing really specific I'm looking for.

To make things even more simple, I'm really just looking for a florist to do bouquets, and instead do the centerpieces as a diy (more on this later as it develops). But without specific flowers or elaborate requirements, I wasn't really picky on the actual florist.

But I did wind up talking to a few different florists, and all of them quoted me around the same price. Since there wasn't a huge difference between all the ones I considered I decided to go with the one was recommended to me by the boy's sister.

I did try to search for some images from our florist from a real wedding, and while I didn't have much luck I did get one hit.

For this wedding the bride went with green hydrangeas, and while you can't see it as well, from the picture below you can she that her bouquet matched the flowers on the cake.

Now that you've at least seen some of our florist work, it only makes sense to show you my inspiration photos, which also made their way to the florist.

Did you have a lot of specifications when picking a florist? And if you had to pick, which one of my inspiration shots would be your favorite?

  1. Shoshanah, I am so flattered that you took my bouquet picture from Weddingbee to your florist! I actually did not use a florist; I got my flowers wholesale from Blooms By the Box and invited my bridesmaids over for a bouquet making party. I used hydrangea, roses, and lisianthus.

  3. Flowers weren't a huge deal for me so I went with Whole Foods. We got a great deal. They did some custom work for me and everything was beautiful and fresh for the wedding.
    Your inspiration bouquets are gorgeous!
