18 MonthsYou're 18 months old! (Which means for the first time in some time, I'm not combining multiple updates into one!)
March 2At your 18 month visit you were 30.3 inches tall (4.5%ile). You weighed 17 lbs 4 ozs (0%ile). Your head circumference was 45.5 cm (4th%ile).
March 10You're wearing a mix of 12 month and 9 month clothing. Tops tend to be 12 months, but bottoms are 9 months. (And even some of your 9 month bottoms are still way to loose at the waist.)
March 15Somehow in the past few weeks you seem to have left babyhood behind and are being a full-fledged toddler! There are so many new words. Each day it feels like I hear you saying a new one. But at an attempt of a running list, adding to the ones from last month, you can say shoe, sock, no, noodle, wa-wa (water), ball ball (football), uh oh, woah, outside, book, truck, duck, cat, che-it (cheezit), and sheep. Although you aren't always matching the animal to the name and spent The Royal Wedding calling the white horses, sheep.
March 25Eating is still hit and miss for you. It's not that you're picky exactly, but there are just times you don't want to sit down and eat. Although if I had to pick a favorite it's likely some type of carbs (bread, croissants, and doughnuts for example).
March 31You are a bit of a daredevil and are constantly falling down or running into things. You're current favorite thing is standing on top of the coffee table and "jumping" into someone arms or the couch (i.e. taking a step off the table and hoping you're close enough to fall onto a safe surface.)
April 14You love books, and each night when I tell you it's the last one before night-night you're never very happy. Your favorite books tend to be those with animals in them. You love
Chomp by Matthew Van Fleet and
Baby Loves Quantum Physics (since you love pointing out Schrodinger's cat).
April 15You love playing outside. We recently bought a water table (on sale at a Toys R Us store closing) and you absolutely love splashing and getting wet. You'll be starting swim lessons in a couple weeks, and I'm sure you'll have a blast.
April 18You give the absolute best hugs, throwing your tiny arms around someone with a giant squeeze. (To the point I've been told so by not only your teachers at daycare, but by the other moms there too!) I just hope that some day when you're a teenager and way too cool for mom, I can still remember how awesome your hugs used to be.
April 22Here's a comparison with your sister at 18 months.
