Tricks and Treats

They sent out an e-mail at work warning yet again about the dangers of swine flu H1N1 virus. They reminded everyone of the obvious to wash your hands, to not sneeze into your hand, silly things like that. Then to get us all in the health spirit HR came around and passed out a box of Kleenex to everyone. (I went with a red decorated box. I need to keep my desk color coordinated after all.)

The someone else from HR came by with a plastic pumpkin jack-o-lantern filled with packs of anti-bacterial gel. Sort of like trick-or-treating in reserve. Except you don't normally trick-or-treat for anti-bacterial gel. Although they had a few different scents. I wound up going with atomic apple.

And coincidentally HR also brought me my birthday cupcake not to long afterwards. Once a month they give out birthday cupcakes to everyone who had a birthday that month. They had a few different standard flavors, and I wound up going with red velvet. The cupcake was so pretty. It even had a chocolate fluer-de-lis on top. I even went to take a picture, but realize my camera was sitting next to my computer at the apartment. You'll have to trust me on how pretty it looked. And the cupcake itself tasted absolutely amazing. Although looking back now, I really want to try one of those chocolate chip cupcakes. I guess I might just have to pick up a chocolate chip cupcake myself!

  2. I have been the same way at my store... I'm tempted to have a table set up at the door with anti-bacterial stuff for people to use.... not sure if home office would approve of that though. HAHAHA! :)

  4. this post kind of makes me wish I didn't work at home so that I could get free kleenex and purell and cupcakes, haha. though, I am pretty sure that even if I worked in my work's office full time, that still wouldn't happen! though, I know for a fact that people sometimes order yummy italian food and leave it free-game in the kitchen... or that people bring in goodies on holidays and birthdays... man, I'm jealous! haha

  5. Love it! Trick or treating for sanitizing products! I'm so going to try that on the neighborhoods kids (They are going to hate me...My parents would be pissed if our house got egged or papered so I guess I'll hold off until I have my own place one day).

You inspired me to do a post on how I know Bekah since she is one of my early ties to studying Judaism and she is linked to J.... Hmmm A way back when post is in order!

  6. I can certainly answer the Drew-Bekah question: When we were in school, we both had the same professor one year and since Drew was interested in Judaism, he hoisted her off on me one Pesach and we had a blast and have been buds ever since. PS then she started dating my roommate, and then we became roommates... Life is funny sometimes.

BTW i always read your posts, i just don't always comment, but know that i'm here reading them!
