I've written several times about how big of a fan I am about different
cheeses. But you might be surprised to hear I'm not a big grilled cheese sandwich. Mainly because I don't like American cheese (or most heavily processed cheeses) and that's normally what grilled cheese sandwiches are made of.
Enter Zoe's Kitchen. I had never heard of this restaurant until I moved to Baton Rouge. It is a chain, but they don't have it in California or Maryland (the two states I've lived in before). Or if they do have it I was uninformed. It is similar to Panera, but doesn't quite replace it. Mainly because they have no French onion soups, or Asian Chicken Salad, or well... everything about Panera. But this isn't a post about how the need to open up a Panera franchise in Baton Rouge, this is about Zoe's. And do you want to know the reason why I love Zoe's so much?
My HeavenYes, that is a grilled
feta sandwich. Pretty much my perfect grilled cheese sandwich ever! I've talked to my co-workers about this sandwich, and they don't really enjoy it. They thinks there's probably a little too much feta on it.
But remember I like eating feta by itself as a snack! I'd probably be ok if they added more feta. So now I can say I love grilled cheese sandwiches, as long as the cheese is feta!

I love grilled cheese sandwiches so when you said you didn't I gasped!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found one you love though!!!!
Wow, grilled feta cheese sandwich? I have never heard of it! LOL! I'm interested though and now I want to try it!
ReplyDeleteOoo...how do you find good lookin' food?!?! You should be a food critic for a newspaper or magazine :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of grilled cheese sandwiches, BUT I've tried the sandwich with muenster cheese and it's awesome :) That will be the only grilled cheese sandwich I will ever eat (unless I try the feta cheese sandwich....)
Oh, La, La! I haven't tried the grilled cheese from Zoe's. In fact, I've only been to Zoe's once. I loved it but I haven't been back. I've got to try the grilled cheese, this weekend! Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeletewell, I have already said before how I am not a huge fan of cheese but I made my fair share of grilled cheese sandwiches since dating my boyfriend. he loves them! though I don't know if he would to the feta. he's not that exotic, or experimental. haha. he sticks with the processed cheese!
ReplyDeleteon another note, panera is super good, huh? love it. especially the creamy tomato soup, the salads, the chicken salad sandwich... oh I could go on and on! too bad there isn't one near you!
Hahaha, that is hilarious. I LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches with tomatoe soup. YUM! One of my favourite lunches from when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteI do really like feta, but that might be a little too much feta for me too, I mostly just like it on salads!
My mouth is now salivating...YUM! I actually love grilled cheese :) With ANY kind of cheese - I don't discriminate.
